He/she will be expected to work with the team and business in a smooth and effective manner, and contribute to increasing asset growth and profitability for the firm through leading and directing sales activities with financial institutions in Japan.

  • Work in the financial institutions sales team by directing sales initiatives, team development, working together with regional and global leaders to identify and execute strategic opportunities to expand the institutional platform in Japan.
  • Marketing to GSAM’s major financial institution clients (such as insurance companies and banks) to outsource their assets instead of managing these internally.
  • Liaise with portfolio managers and clients in developing customized asset management services for clients.
  • Develop strong relationships with both prospects and existing clients through best-in-class investment advice and client service

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a proven producer in the Japanese financial services industry
  • Experience covering financial institution clients in a direct sales, product, or marketing capacity with a recognized financial services organization in Japan
  • Team management experience
  • Experience in team management or leadership role, including strategic planning, client allocation, and providing guidance to team members
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and products
  • Ideally possesses a sophisticated understanding of alternative investment and fixed income product lines in particular
  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • Native Japanese and high level of fluency in English is required
