Job Overview
About the Role:
The team:
The team serves as the vital first line of contact for the delivery of triCalculate Valuation, IM, and Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics services to our clients. This specific role is heavily client-facing and market-focused. The successful candidate will drive pre-sales technical engagements, partner with sophisticated market participants to gather and structurally define complex portfolio requirements and confidently present our product analytics. While the individual will analyze complex OTC derivative portfolios, run calculations, and identify problems, they will primarily act as a senior technical escalation point and backup for advanced support queries, leaving routine data mapping to the broader team
Responsibilities and impact:
Pre-Sales, Requirements Gathering & Product Advocacy
• Requirement Definition: Partner directly with institutional clients and prospects to analyze, translate, and define their complex quantitative and regulatory requirements.
• Pre-Sales Partnership: Function as the key technical expert to assist the Sales team during advanced technical presentations, demonstrating deep product capabilities.
• Evaluation & Pilots: Lead, manage, and support high-value prospects through the evaluation phase, driving technical pilot projects and proof-of-concept testing to successful conversion.
• Client Engagement: Communicate directly with clients and prospects to ensure they are utilizing the triCalculate services to their full, advanced potential.
• Demo Management: Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to prepare, maintain, and structure the triCalculate demo environment to showcase advanced risk capabilities.
• Product Roadmap Input: Structurally identify and relay advanced service and functionality improvements to internal stakeholders based directly on gathered client needs.
• Reporting: Provide regular internal updates regarding the status, needs, and health of active clients and prospects.
Client Advisory & Senior Technical Escalation
• Technical Escalation Point: Serve as the senior escalation point and expert technical backup for clients encountering advanced issues or unexpected calculation results.
• Model Explanation: Explain complex financial engineering assumptions, underlying curve behaviors, and the mathematical ideas underpinning our calculations to client quantitative and risk teams.
• Portfolio Consultation: Discuss, analyze, and support strategic changes to trade portfolios and provide deep interpretation of risk metrics.
• Training Delivery: Deliver expert-level training to sophisticated client teams and internal colleagues, while maintaining relevant training documentation.
• Enhancement Testing: Ensure system enhancements meet goals and institutional expectations through testing and discussion with stakeholders.
• System Backup: Perform hands-on system configurations or trade mappings on an occasional basis as a high-level technical backup or during highly complex client setups.
Candidate Specification
• Elite Product Knowledge: A profound, first-principles understanding of OTC Derivative products and the specific structural and market risk properties that describe different types of complex trades.
• Risk Analytics Expertise: Deep knowledge and technical understanding of the calculation of valuation and various advanced risk measures associated with OTC derivatives (e.g., VaR, Initial Margin, XVA).
• Consultative Mindset: A highly technically minded, analytical, and structured approach to gathering business requirements and solving complex problems.
• Elite Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ability to represent the business and convey complex financial engineering or risk concepts in a manner that is accessible, accurate, meaningful, and helpful to institutional clients is paramount. This is equally true for internal collaboration.
• Technical & Coding Skillset: Solid IT skills and proficiency in standard applications like Excel. Knowledge and practical experience with one or more coding languages (such as Python) is a distinct advantage for data analysis, though not a strict requirement.
• Bilingual Fluency: The candidate must be completely fluent in Japanese, both verbally and in writing, to lead regional client relationships. The candidate must also be able to speak and write English to a very good professional level for global internal collaboration.
