One of our clients is looking for a Software Engineer to join an international engineering team developing modern enterprise and FinTech solutions for major clients in Japan.
This is a hands-on engineering position where you will work on backend and/or frontend development, APIs, cloud-based systems, databases, testing, and system modernization projects.
Depending on your interests and experience, you may also have opportunities to participate in system design and architecture phases.
- The position offers a flexible hybrid work style (4 times / week remotely).

About the Position
As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers to design, develop, test, and improve software solutions used in enterprise and financial environments.
You will contribute to product development and the implementation of the company’s technology solutions while working with modern backend and frontend technologies.
Depending on your experience and career interests, you may also participate from the system design phase and gradually expand your responsibilities toward architecture and technical leadership.
Projects can involve modern APIs, payment platforms, online financial services, cloud-native applications, microservices, and modernization of large-scale financial systems.

Develop and maintain high-quality software systems, databases, and applications

Requirements
Must Have
3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar software development role
2+ years of hands-on development experience with at least one of the following technologies:
- Spring (Java or Kotlin)
- Vue.js / Nuxt.js / Quasar
- Go
- C# .NET / ASP.NET
Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2 or above for foreign candidates)
Experience developing and maintaining production software applications
Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers as part of a development team
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience working with at least one major cloud platform:
- AWS
- GCP
- Azure
Experience using development tools such as Git
Conversational English
Experience participating in new product development projects from an early or conceptual stage
Experience with cloud-native application development
