About the role:

The Procurement team is currently seeking a Specialist Logistics & Supply Chain to join them on a 4:3 Roster based at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Manager Logistics, you will be responsible for providing spearheading enhancement initiatives within the Procurement & Supply domain, with a concentrated emphasis on optimizing the facets of Purchasing, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Logistics. This encompasses the strategic design and operational execution of the Distribution Centre and the on-site Warehousing facilities, ensuring they function as a cohesive, efficient hub-and-spoke network.

With a focus on People, Processes, and Systems, delving into the intricate technicalities of the Logistics infrastructure, this role demands a comprehensive understanding of the network's architecture and the proficiency to drive continuous improvements.

The Specialist will facilitate seamless interactions between vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring a synchronized flow of parts and materials. The aim is to cultivate a resilient, adaptive logistics network that not only meets current operational demands but is also scalable to accommodate future growth and changes within the industry landscape.

Duties:

  • Strategically re-engineer the procurement delivery model to enhance support for Mobile Maintenance operations, which represent a significant portion of Roy Hill's annual expenditure
  • Foster collaborative interactions and build relationships with relevant on-site entities and vendors
  • Streamline inventory management, optimizing stock levels, pallet positioning, and delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of parts
  • Implement refined maintenance scheduling practices, with robust tracking mechanisms for enhanced accountability and efficiency
  • Develop, implement, and periodically reassess Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee a secure working environment for personnel engaged in routine tasks
  • Actively participate in strategic planning sessions with principal stakeholders to forecast and accommodate long-term and evolving supply demands, aligned with customer requirements
  • Implement advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making tools to forecast demand and align procurement strategies with operational requirements

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive warehouse and supply chain experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Relevant Certificates in warehousing, logistics or supply chain
