Strategic Finance and Expansion - Tokyo, Japan

With rapid growth in mind, CIC seeks an Director, Strategic Finance and Expansion to help support our corporate finance team and the greater organization using data analysis to make sound decisions about launching and operating new projects, new products and managing financial communication with our partners in Asia.
As the main lead on deals and transactions, you will play a pivotal role in structuring and presenting business plans to our partners. This includes communicating with real estate partners, crafting work plans, collecting and analyzing relevant data, developing/presenting financial models, and formulating final recommendations for management. Additionally, you will support the communication of financial results to our partners and work with internal CIC teams on related analysis. You will directly report to the Director, Strategic Finance and Expansion and hold a senior position over our Corporate Finance Associates and Analysts.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORKIn this dynamic role, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of CIC's new ventures, focusing on presenting and developing financial models for new and current centers with our external partners. You will be entrusted with significant autonomy to drive strategic decisions, develop new business models, and lead initiatives from concept to execution. Your work will directly influence the company's strategic direction and operational effectiveness in rolling out new ventures.
Potential responsibilities will include:• Taking a priority role in the project structuring and negotiation process with both internal and external partners, making decisions or providing senior management recommendations as needed.• Fully autonomous development and validation of business plans for new centers including owning the financial modeling and assumptions.• Reviewing and presenting monthly financial results of our centers in Asia to partners.• Collaborating closely with the finance and accounting teams to align financial projections with operational management systems.• Building cross-functional relationships to identify and implement process improvements for new venture rollouts.• Analyzing financial outcomes to pinpoint revenue and cost trends across projects and the company.• Providing leadership and guidance to the finance team’s analysts and senior associates, supporting the Director of Strategy & Expansion, and the executive team.• Partner with local leadership on the development of annual budgets and forecast projections. Present financial results and variance analysis to leadership on a monthly basis.• Assisting with creating materials and presentations for our Board of Directors meetings, along with other Investor Relations conversations.

YOU HAVE• 7+ years of experience in a Corporate Finance, Consulting, or Investment Banking role.• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or business, or equivalent work experience (an MBA in any of the aforementioned fields is a plus).• Demonstrated excellence in managing multiple transactions, delivering tangible results, and making direct contributions.• Proven experience in performing economic/corporate finance modeling.• Proven ability to thoughtfully leverage analysis for strategic decision-making.• Fluency in both Japanese and English.• Ability to legally work in Japan.
