Job Description

What a Strategy and Operations Manager, does at Visa:

You will be working closely with the Head of CMS Japan, and the larger VCS Japan team to support the strategy development for VCS Japan with deep market analysis and insights. You will coordinate the financial and planning cycle and ensure a flawless execution of VCS strategy through rigorous performance tracking, developing scorecards and dashboards that provide an acute picture of the area results and enable the adoption of corrective actions when needed. You will actively participate on cross-functional projects that relates to enhancing B2B business for Visa.

As a natural collaborator, you will develop a network of key cross functional stakeholders including various product and client-facing teams (such as Client Relationship Management, Merchant Sales & Acquisition, Client Support, and Visa Consulting & Analytics), to expand the usage of Visa’s Commercial Capabilities. You will also work closely with regional business leaders to implement and coordinate systems and procedures, and interface with regional and global Sales Operations and Sales enablement business partners.

What we expect of you, day to day:

  • Support in strategy deployment, solution ideation and development, portfolio optimization, delivery and enablement of products and services in Japan
  • Responsible in managing core management information systems to grow VCS Japan. This includes, but is not limited to, scorecards, project management, financial tracking & reporting, meeting cadence, and agreeing key action items/deliverables/follow ups
  • Plan, build and execute business plans across both Small Business and Large Market segments to meet CMS Japan’s budget
  • Identify opportunities for client performance optimization of products and services, which includes collaborating with internal cross-functional teams such as Client Relationship Management, Merchant Sales & Acquisition, Client Support, and Visa Consulting & Analytics to develop overarching strategies across commercial related products
  • Effectively navigate problem solving opportunities which vary widely in nature
  • Collect and organize market intelligence and client specific feedback from financial institutions / fintech’s and businesses to contribute to the strategic roadmap for prioritization
  • Manage end-to-end project for product implementation which requires timeline & task identification, coordination with concerned stakeholders such as clients and Client Services team

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 8 years of experience in strategy and operations for a large technology firm or corporate in business planning or strategy, or top-tier management consulting, investment banking, private equity
  • Interest and intellectual curiosity regarding the global financial system, as well as FinTech and business models. Knowledge and experience with payments, eCommerce, and mobile technologies is a plus
  • Good knowledge of product management and development, data driven insights and finance
  • Highly disciplined and organized approach to prioritize deliverables and execute consistently and systematically on both immediate and long-term priorities
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative, and adapt in a fast changing, often ambiguous market context
  • Consistently strives to achieve and improve upon quality standards expected by colleagues and clients
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder management within a multi-national organization
  • Strong academic credentials. An MBA or similar degree from a top tier institution is a plus
  • Full professional level in Japanese with the ability to engage effectively in both written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Business level in English
