Supplier Development Specialist - Offshore Wind - Tokyo

Client Details
Our client is a global manufacturer of wind turbines, a rapidly growing renewable energy solution. They have a history of over 50 years and are a publicly listed company. As one of the largest manufacturers in its field globally, the company is experiencing rapid growth. The company manufactures and installs wind turbines for both onshore and offshore wind farms. The Japan office has around 200 employees and is located in Central Tokyo.
Description
* Develop local supplier base for company's offshore wind constuction projects
* Map and assess vendors that would support business' localization roadmap
* Partner with internal stakeholders, such as commercial and engineering teams, to understand supply chain needs during auction stages
* Handle RFQ process and contract negotiations with potential suppliers
* Manage localization initiative to ensure that business' quality and specification needs are fully met
* Confer with local assembly partner to minimize gaps in discrepancies and issues in procured parts
Profile
* Minimum 5 years of direct procurement experience
* Experience working for EPC, oil & gas, renewable energy companies is highly preferred
* Experience sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts
* Fluent Japanese skills required and business level English skills preferred
* Must be a resident of Japan and/or must hold a valid working visa for Japan
