Supply Chain Manager - Chemical Company - Tokyo

Client Details
Our client is a multinational chemical company that manufactures fragrances and flavors. Their products are mainly supplied to food & beverage, cosmetics, perfume, and household goods companies. They are a publicly listed company with a presence in over 40 countries. The Japan office consists of less than 50 employees. Their main office is based in Central Tokyo and they also have a manufacturing plant in Japan.
Description
* Manage the Supply Chain team by setting KPIs and ensuring team meets overall departmental goals
* Collaborate with commercial teams by leading S&OP meetings and handling forecasting
* Confirm purchase orders and communicate with overseas factories to confirm inventory needs, as well as delivery timelines
* Manage outsourced logistics vendors to ensure proper receiving and storing of inbound goods; participate in stock-counting and auditing processes
* Optimize inventory by identifying and controlling aging and slow-moving stock
* Seek opportunities to improve supply chain operations and implement such initiatives
Profile
* Minimum 5 years of supply chain and/or logistics experience
* Experience coming from manufacturing companies (ideally from chemical, pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetics industries)
* People management experience
* Willingness to take a hands-on approach to manage supply chain operations
* Fluent Japanese skills required and business level English skills preferred
* Must be a resident of Japan and/or must hold a valid working visa for Japan
