• Essential responsibilities and duties

  The Program Buyer is responsible for managing interface between Program and suppliers, anticipating the specific requirements for new programs (supplier technologies, geographical location and target costs), and ensuring the commodity panel strategy is appropriate to support the program. The role selects and pilots suppliers from the agreed supplier panel in order to achieve Program objectives. The Program Buyer belongs to the program core team.

  The main missions of the role are to:

  • Ensure supplier selection from the agreed supplier panel: identify and consult suppliers, manages supplier RFQ based on panel given by the Commodity Buyers. Negotiate or participate with the Commodity Buyer in supplier negotiations and the final choice of supplier (leads sourcing committee process to select suppliers from list provided by commodity buyers)
  • Follow direct performance during the program phase: manage suppliers, compare costs with objectives, ensure quality during the program phase, respect delivery deadlines and in particular ensure that the program phase reviews are supported within the framework of the Faurecia Program Management System (PMS)
  • Manage specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers
  • Negotiate Engineering Change Requests
  • Manage the BOM cost reduction activities to achieve OI goals of the programs in charge

  Key roles and responsibilities :

  • BOM cost reduction activity
  • Prepare BOM analysis for Supplier Strategic Review (SSR)
  • Confirmation of required specifications by R&D
  • Request quotations, terms and conditions from the suppliers (RFQ)
  • Preparation of the Supplier Nomination Committee (SNC)
  • Preparation of letters of nomination (LON) after SNC
  • Negotiate sample delivery lead time as required
  • BOM cost monitoring and follow-up from Acquisition to SOP

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree
• English level: Business level
• Japanese level: Business level

Experience:

【Must】

• Purchasing experience in the manufacturing industry
• Experience of business coordination in English
• Knowledge of electronic components and technologies for automotive industry

【Nice to have】

• Experience of business coordination with teams from China and Inida
• Business level Chinese (conversation, reading and writing)
• First experience in purchasing or in program management
