Information Technology Senior Analyst, Japan Commercial (Sales & Marketing, Medical Affairs)

The Senior IT Analyst will work in a team of IT specialists to drive and archive Janssen Japan business.

Positioned as a business partner facing role, the IT Analyst engages with both Janssen Japan Business team and global/regional IT specialists and be responsible to bring Omnichannel (CRM/Digital) capability, to improve efficacy and Digital Transformation and to support new products launch excellence so that Janssen Japan can maximize its value for our Customers and Patients.

We are looking for a Senior IT Analyst who can discover and lead various business needs with balance of innovation and harmonization, based on data modeling and design thinking approach, using from internal best practices and external, short-term and long-term approach.

The ability to design, analyze, implement and maintain IT solutions especially on CRM/Digital solution is a must. The IT Analyst should understand business demands and find opportunities based on end-to-end data management and Omnichannel perspective in Japan Pharmaceutical Industry. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, negotiator and trainer on IT solution expertise not only CRM/Digital but also on End User Computing.

  • Applies procedures and processes effectively in compliance with J&J IT standards.
  • Seeks new technologies to proactively improve Janssen Japan Business.
  • Balances the competing needs for innovation and standardization/process harmonization, frequently influencing business partners to align with standard methodologies.
  • Analyzes business problems, opportunities, and challenges, factoring in a solid understanding of the technical architecture and the underlying drivers of the business.
  • Leads business requirement and process design sessions to help translate business needs into solution specifications. Recommends solutions, ensuring adequate analysis, solution feasibility, and economic feasibility.
  • Designs technical solutions, including system integrations, in partnership with other sub-functions in IT.
  • Guide and lead team from early idea discussion, project planning, execution and support.
  • Forms productive networks with internal and external business partners and the vendor community, and manages expectations proactively by listening, clarifying, and responding effectively to questions and problems.
  • Commits to work with business partners and/or management and manages business solutions resources and supplier partners.
  • Provides direct input to budget and resource planning.
  • Optimizes a technology portfolio by identifying new ways to provide value to the business (e.g., retirements, upgrades, leveraging opportunities, functionality extensions).


  • Independently look into more complex problems and suggests effective resolutions across IT and Business.
  • Propose/selects solutions and methodologies for projects, following compliance and company guidelines.
  • Leads the assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions and provides appropriate recommendations based on industry trends, internal benchmarking, and vendor relationships.
  • Balances between IT standards and strategies and business need to guide well-informed decisions.
  • Applies compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provides documentation as necessary, and participates in compliance activities as required.

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced understanding of CRM/Digital solutions, omnichannel data management approach, and other IT solutions to improve productivity and efficiency in Pharmaceutical Commercial Industry.
  • Builds and maintains up-to-date knowledge about CRM/Digital strategies and industry trends.
  • Understanding of J&J IT’s technology standards and strategies (to be acquired if outside candidate).
  • Understanding of lifecycle management and applies compliance requirements within scope of responsibility, provides documentation as necessary and participates in compliance activities as required.
  • Cultural awareness across multi-market region complexity.
  • Provides advanced expertise in their area of responsibility through team leadership and business partnership.
  • Acts as a key resource on larger projects and serves as a consultant with multi-functional team members (e.g. internal and external).

  • Analyzes business problems, opportunities, and challenges, factoring in a solid understanding of the technical architecture and the underlying drivers of the business.



  • Typical candidates will possess 5+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent OR 4+ years with advanced degree or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have at least 5 years of CRM/Digital experience in B to B market.
  • 3+ years of Project Management Experience is highly desirable, preferably have an experience of middle-sized commercial projects (member 10+).
  • Knowledge of healthcare sales & marketing process. Experience in other industries a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team with varied strengths.
  • Ability to operate independently, multi-task, and prioritize tasks appropriately.
  • Knowledge of pharma regulatory environment, PMD Act, HCC and digital operation privacy policy.
  • Actively promote CRM/Digital solution to business aligned with Data Science and Data Management strategy.
  • Native level Japanese and Business Level English skill is highly required.
