Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities

The Generative AI/LLM Team’s mission:

To maximize the impact of Mercari’s business and dramatically enhance productivity across the company through the application of generative AI/LLM technologies in our products

Specific work responsibilities include the following:

• Planning, developing, and supporting the application of generative AI/LLM technologies in Mercari Group’s services
• Creating and implementing tools to enhance productivity across Mercari Group’s companies and the teams within
• Drawing up strategies and managing the team
• Researching generative AI/LLM technologies to help the team make appropriate decisions

Unique and Bold Challenges

• In this position, you will be able to leverage Mercari Group’s vast amounts of information to create products used by millions of people.
• The Generative AI/LLM Team serves two main functions: leading and supporting applications of generative AI/LLM technologies into our existing products, and building new products to create business impact while learning about these technologies. You will be able to take on the challenge of boldly implementing these new technologies into society and creating major business results in the process.
• As this team is made up of a select few, yet spans all of Mercari Group’s businesses in Japan, you will be expected to take on a broad range of responsibilities. You will need a strong understanding of engineering, business, and design, as well as the ability to balance all of these aspects.

Required Qualifications

• Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
• Five or more years of product management experience in products or services for the internet or smartphone industries, or equivalent experience
• Experience working for a start-up or elite few company
• Strong understanding of engineering, business, and design
• Leadership and communication skills that can motivate and empower others
• Passion for the products and technologies
• Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment and move fast to drive projects along

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software development as an engineer
• Experience in founding and managing a startup or venture company
• Experience taking ownership of a project, planning a service from scratch, and releasing it
• Experience managing generative AI/LLM-related products
• Experience working in English

Working Conditions

Employment Status

Full-time

• Probationary period: First 3 months after joining the company. (During this period your contract conditions will be the same as that of a permanent employee.)

• メルカリグループの各社・各チームの生産性向上のためのツール作成・導入

ユニークなチャレンジ
