You Are

You have spent years solving real engineering problems with simulation software, and you know the difference between running an analysis and actually helping someone understand why their structure is failing at that specific load condition. You think in workflows, not just features. When a customer calls with a nonlinear convergence issue at 3 p.m., you do not panic, you ask three good questions, look at their mesh, and find the boundary condition they missed.

You are comfortable translating between what the software can do and what the engineer on the other end of the line actually needs to deliver by Friday. You have debugged enough explicit dynamics models to know that the answer is rarely "just refine the mesh," and you can explain a contact algorithm adjustment in terms that make sense to someone who has been staring at their screen for six hours.

You like being the person who makes someone else's project work. Learning a new solver or testing a beta feature does not intimidate you, it interests you. At Synopsys, you will work with customers across Japan who depend on structural simulation to get products out the door, and you will be the engineer who makes that happen.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support customers using Synopsys Structural products including Workbench Mechanical, LS-Dyna, and Discovery to solve real-world engineering problems across nonlinear, explicit dynamics, and structural analysis applications
  • Diagnose technical issues by reviewing customer models, simulation setups, and results, then guide them to solutions that actually work within their project timelines
  • Leverage Synopsys AI-based platforms alongside your engineering expertise to accelerate problem resolution and improve customer outcomes
  • Create and update technical content including knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and workflow documentation that helps customers and internal teams solve problems faster
  • File detailed defect reports when you identify software issues, verify fixes from development, and participate in field testing of new releases to ensure features meet customer requirements
  • Build long-term relationships with customers by understanding their engineering challenges, usage patterns, and business goals, becoming a trusted technical advisor they return to
  • Travel occasionally within Japan to support onsite customer engagements, training sessions, or critical project milestones

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with engineering simulation software in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated experience using Synopsys Structural software such as Workbench Mechanical or LS-Dyna, or equivalent knowledge of commercial CAE packages like Abaqus, Nastran, or similar tools
  • Strong foundation in structural analysis, nonlinear analysis, numerical methods, and explicit dynamics, you understand the theory and can apply it to messy real-world problems
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese, written and spoken, you will be supporting Japanese-speaking customers and collaborating with global teams
  • 3 to 5 years in customer-facing roles using engineering simulation software is a strong plus, especially if you have helped customers identify requirements, communicated solutions clearly, and delivered results under pressure
  • Experience with explicit dynamics analysis, contact modeling, or crash simulation is a plus

Who You Are

  • You can take a vague customer complaint like "my analysis won't converge" and within 15 minutes of looking at their setup, identify whether it is a material definition issue, a contact problem, or a time step that is too aggressive
  • You write documentation that other engineers actually want to read, clear, specific, and focused on solving the problem, not showcasing the feature
  • You manage your time well enough to handle five open support cases, a beta testing deadline, and a customer site visit in the same week without dropping anything important
  • You are curious enough to dig into a new solver feature or AI workflow even when it is outside your current comfort zone, because you know it will help a customer three months from now
  • You stay calm when a customer is frustrated, and you have learned that the best way to de-escalate is to show them you understand their problem and have a plan to fix it
  • You work well independently and know when to pull in a colleague, whether that is a senior engineer, a developer, or someone in a different region with the right expertise

You will join the Synopsys Customer Excellence team, a global group of engineers focused on making customers successful with Synopsys simulation and analysis software. The team works across time zones and geographies, supporting customers through technical challenges, product adoption, and integration of Synopsys tools into their design workflows. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Japan and around the world, and you will have access to development teams, product managers, and senior technical experts when you need them.

必須学歴・資格・経験

  • 機械工学、化学工学、または関連分野における学士号・修士号・博士号
  • エンジニアリングソフトウェア環境での実務経験 2 年以上
  • Synopsys Structural ソフトウェア(Mechanical、LS-Dyna)の使用経験、または他社商用 CAE ソフトウェアに関する知識
  • 構造解析、非線形解析、数値解析手法、陽解法動解析(Explicit Dynamics)に関する知識
  • 数値モデルを実装し、複雑な問題に対して実用的な工学的解決策を導き出す問題解決能力
