Appealing Points

Job Description

The company is seeking a talented UI/UX Designer with experience designing digital products for Japanese users. The ideal candidate combines strong visual design capabilities with a deep understanding of Japanese UI expectations, user behavior and usability principles. The candidate works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams and customer stakeholders to deliver intuitive and engaging digital experiences.

Job Responsibilities

• Design user-centric web and mobile experiences for Japanese customers.
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering and QA.
• Conduct user research, usability testing and design validation activities.
• Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• Ensure adherence to Japanese design standards, typography, readability and accessibility practices.
• Participate in design reviews and stakeholder workshops.
• Support continuous improvement of digital products through user feedback and analytics.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in UI/UX or Product Design.
• Strong expertise in modern design tools.
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes and design systems.
• Understanding of user research and usability testing methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing for Japanese products or brands.
• Understanding of Japanese UI patterns, information density, typography and mobile-first design approaches.
• Knowledge of Noto Sans JP and Japanese readability principles.
• HTML/CSS understanding.
• Experience in BFSI or Insurance.
• Nice to have: experience with AI-assisted design tools.
• Nice to have: experience with Design Thinking workshops.
• Nice to have: prior experience working with global teams across Japan and offshore locations.

Language Required: Japanese - Business level
