Position objectives and position summary

• Generates new business through marketing to intermediaries, including directly approaching to corporate clients.

• Result oriented underwriting of domestic and international accounts in the defined corporate client segment with a focus on Renewable Energy (70%) and Engineering/Construction (30%).

• Contribute to develop market-oriented solutions.

Main tasks/activities

• Develops relationships with and seeks business flow from intermediaries in coordination with internal distribution managers and customer managers.

• Acts as the primary conduit at SRIJ for assigned target accounts including client visits.

• Analyses and assesses technical (re)insurability regarding terms and conditions on new offers and renewal submissions.

• Prepares quotations, structures programs, and offers proposals in accordance with guidelines. Refers business for 4-eyes review to assigned reviewers.

• Uses Swiss Re group tools and systems for the development of terms and conditions.

• Enters and maintains risk information into the various information systems and administers the accounts.

• Participates in deal teams to execute transactions.

• Manages the Nat Cat accumulation control in cooperation with the Group Nat Cat guidelines and experts' opinion.

• Attends local Industry events, conventions and site visits, if necessary.

• Cooperates closely and works in an integrated way with internal specialists.

• Contributes to other project work and accepts special assignments.

Representation activities and interaction with other parties

• Represents SRIJ in meetings with intermediaries, clients and other SR Group entities

• Works effectively with global team

• Coordinates with Products, Risk Engineering, Nat Cat teams and other internal units

About you

Business & interpersonal skills Experience, knowledge and mind-set

• 7+ years' experience in (re)insurance industry, preferably in Renewable Energy, Engineering or Property underwriting

• Strong analytical skills and good proficiency with common IT applications

• High interest and willingness to learn about technical topics • Great teammate with high client orientation.

• Understands the value proposition and products with respect to commercial insurance for large corporates in Japan - technical understanding - willing to learn Swiss Re CorSo product capabilities and being up to date

• Open mindset and ability to drive innovation

Professional skills

• Technical understanding of Engineering and Renewable Energy business and market

• Risk assessment and underwriting processes • Client focused with business origination and client management skills, seeks client satisfaction • Able to professionally communicate and interact with people from different levels/locations

• Native Japanese language (writing and speaking), fluent in English Personality profile
