Niantic's UX Design team delivers innovative mobile experiences that inspire exploration, exercise, and connection for players around the world.
As a Senior UX Designer, you will own the end-to-end UX vision for a game title or major feature area, carrying it from strategy and underlying flows through polished, high-fidelity interfaces that keep the player at the center. The design challenges here are real-world and often have no established playbook, so we value thoughtful design, exceptional visual execution, and the ability to bring ideas to life quickly.
At Niantic and our Tokyo Studio, great UX depends on how you collaborate as much as what you produce. You will operate as a peer to Product, Engineering, Art, and Marketing to influence product direction, and one of your most important and rewarding partnerships will be with Game Designers, who bring deep expertise in shaping player experiences. Together, you will work at the intersection of deep game design and the accessibility of a great consumer product, building experiences that welcome gamers and non-gamers alike.
Within the design team, you will raise the craft of the designers around you through mentorship, and part of that is helping define how we work with AI. You will help shape best practices and experiment with AI tools and workflows to form a point of view on where they add real value. Your efforts will underscore core UX and design principles, showing that the best results come when the designer and user-centric thinking stay at the center, so that AI amplifies product impact rather than substituting for creativity.
