About Mercari
Circulate all forms of value to unleash the potential in all people
"What can I do to help society thrive with the finite resources we have?" The Mercari marketplace app was born in 2013 out of this thought by our founder Shintaro Yamada as he traveled the world. We believe that by circulating all forms of value, not just physical things and money, we can create opportunities for anyone to realize their dreams and contribute to society and the people around them. Mercari aims to use technology to connect people all over the world and create a world where anyone can unleash their potential. About the Role
We are seeking a User Researcher to join the Cross-border UX research team supporting the Mercari Global Product rollout.
This is a hands-on, tactical research role focused on generating continuous insights to improve our global marketplace experience across multiple countries and user contexts. You’ll play a key role in planning and executing usability testing, concept evaluations, and customer feedback analysis, while also supporting research operations and helping ensure that user insights reach decision-makers quickly and effectively.
As Mercari scales globally, we are looking for someone with a strong international mindset — curious about cultural nuance, local market differences, and how user needs shift across regions. We are also looking for someone excited to work in an increasingly AI-native research environment, using AI tools thoughtfully to improve research speed, quality, synthesis, and communication.
This position is ideal for a practical, detail-oriented researcher who enjoys balancing structured UX testing with operational ownership, continuous learning, and opportunities for strategic thinking and fieldwork.
