Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Japan or his designee, the VP will manage a portfolio of multi-asset class investments in Japan across various Keppel vehicles and mandates.

This role is responsible for formulating and executing detailed business plans, budgets, and asset management strategies to achieve performance targets and maximize total returns for investors. The individual will work closely with team members in both Japan and Singapore to ensure alignment with investment and asset strategies.

The VP must also ensure timely, accurate reporting by coordinating inputs from stakeholders and overseeing report preparation and review. This position offers a challenging and dynamic environment for professionals seeking impactful work in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Japan (or designee) in developing and executing:
    - Asset management strategies to achieve business and financial performance goals.
    - Value creation initiatives, including asset optimization and profit growth (both organic and inorganic).

  • Collaborate with the investment team to:
    - Formulate and manage post-acquisition integration plans.
    - Develop long-term asset strategies, including potential exit options.

  • Provide input to project cash flow and fund life-cycle models, and work closely with investment, reporting, and finance teams.

  • Manage all commercial, legal, and financial matters related to the assets, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management of portfolio companies, property managers, design and construction firms, lenders, and tenants.

  • Guide, mentor, and develop junior team members.

  • Support other business analysis and reporting as required.

  • Assist with other Keppel initiatives as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Relevant Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant real estate experience in Japanese market, preferably in the office sector, and ideally in asset or property management. At least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Bilingual in native Japanese and fluent English (spoken and written).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and motivate.

  • Highly analytical and numerate, with strong financial modeling skills in Excel.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and under pressure.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Creative thinker with a proactive mindset and a solutions-oriented approach.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
