About the role

A unique opportunity exists for a customer focused Mine Village Services Manager to join our team based at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the General Manager Non-Process Infrastructure, you will oversee the performance of our mine village and aerodrome services, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for our village residents and visitors. In this pivotal leadership role, you will ensure best in industry culture and service levels for our village operations, whilst proactively seeking opportunities to elevate our service standards as we embark on an exciting village transformation program.

The successful candidate will have a passion for customer experience and the ability to positively influence change through meaningful engagement and collaboration.

Duties

  • Lead the safety and health culture, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures
  • Accountable for the delivery of the village operations (catering, cleaning, facilities management, administration, mine office cleaning) and oversee an extensive contractor partnership
  • Oversee village and aerodrome services and infrastructure and ensure capital upgrades are complete with minimal impact to village operations
  • Oversee expenditure of a large operational budget and capital projects budget
  • Support commercial contract negotiations, tender evaluations and award of camp and facilities services contracts
  • Ensure reliable performance of utility infrastructure to support the development and operations of the sites (including power, water, waste management)
  • Ensure timely commentary on behalf of the company on statutory planning matters such as town planning scheme review and amendments so the company’s long-term operations and project development requirements are not compromised
  • Develop positive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and influence others to achieve collaborative outcomes

Skills and experience

  • A customer-centric mindset with the ability to drive a culture of inclusion, safety, well-being, and care for all
  • Proven experience in managing a remote village and/or housing infrastructure
  • Experience managing and executing service contracts and commercial negotiation skills
  • Mining and or resources industry experience including experience operating at a leadership level
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience and the ability to manage complexity in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong knowledge of auditing procedures
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to build meaningful partnerships with diverse stakeholders
