TEAMThe Woven City Product Security Team is responsible for the cyber security of the Woven City project, a smart city built at the base of Mt Fuji in Japan. Smart cities rely on a distributed network of sensors to capture vast amounts of data that city planners can use to improve the quality of services and welfare of their citizens. This ever-increasing complexity creates new security and privacy challenges that can lead to gaps in essential services and privacy breaches of citizens and visitors. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORThe Woven City Product Security team is looking for exceptional software engineers with a background in cryptography and PKI who will work with the Woven City team and our partners to build a PKI for Woven City to support IoT security and identity, and create a healthy city architecture that is secure and private by design. You will be expected to help create the PKI architecture to support the hardware, software, and ecosystem of the city platform. Level commensurate with experience. In this role you will report to an engineering manager, and work in a hybrid function onsite several days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create the architecture for the Woven City PKI in partnership with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure Woven City is secure, private, and safe by design
  • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging cryptographic strategies
  • Provide expert support to product teams
  • Provide training and facilitate safe cryptographic practices across the organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing cryptography and PKI solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of cryptography and PKI
  • Work expertise in one or more languages such as Go, Rust, Python, C/C++, or Java
  • Experience with PKI architecture

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Internet of Things security and privacy experience
  • Experience with Android or embedded operating systems (QNX, FreeRTOS, etc.)
  • Advanced Japanese language skills
