Our client is the world's largest health accessory company providing vision and hearing aids from Europe founded in the 1950s. Globally, it is the most dominant in vision aid maker with a presence in over 150 countries and 60 distribution centres.
In Japan, our client has the largest market share for vision aid accessories with a local manufacturer and efforts to localise its products to ensure accessibility. Its Japan office is a truly global company with a good balance of Japanese and foreign staff. Today, the Japan entity stands with 40 stores and 650 staff.
Description
* Responsibilities include monthly closing activities such as reviewing GL, cost accounting, and inventory.
* Review monthly financial package and communicate with Headquarter.
* Reconcile balance sheets and manage cash flow, including liaising with APAC treasury.
* Analyze inventory and oversee monthly accruals.
* Ensure compliance with tax and commercial laws and provide updates on new regulations.
* Maintain SOX compliance and identify process improvement opportunities.
* Supervise local accounting staff and collaborate with the Shared Service Team.
Profile
* Relevant experience in accounting
* Retail industry experience preferred
* ERP system experience
* Knowledge with local GAAP and IFRS
* Adaptable and proactive
