Job Description:
Department Overview
We are responsible for creating customer touchpoints in real-world channels and driving business growth, with Rakuten Mobile shop operations at our core. Our stores serve as more than just places to sign contracts; they act as the "front line of customer engagement," playing a vital role in supporting the brand experience by providing Rakuten Group services across communications, finance, and e-commerce.
The Shop Operation Section serves as the "strategic hub" for store operations, managing everything from the construction of the physical store network and back-end call center functions to the development of systems and devices that streamline in-store operations.
Our Planning & Escalation Group’s mission is to derive the optimal balance of cost and quality regarding store development, such as new store openings and store renovations, thereby supporting swift and accurate decision-making by the management team. Our primary mission goes beyond handling administrative tasks; we manage the profitability of entire projects and build operational frameworks for store development to ensure the most effective outcomes.
Position:
Why We Hire
With the expansion of the Rakuten Mobile shop business, our group is required to build new operations that are not bound by "past success." To achieve maximum results with a limited number of members, we must strongly drive the sophistication of store opening operations and cost management.
In this rapidly changing environment, we are looking for someone who will not be passive, but instead possess a strong will to "create the rules ourselves" and lead our group's operations. We welcome individuals who can thrive as a front-runner in improving the quality and efficiency of store development in this responsible position.
Position Details
The main roles and responsibilities in the Planning & Escalation Group are as follows. We are looking for someone to lead these initiatives as a leader or a leader candidate.
Management of the approval process for new store opening projects
Based on business strategy, you will scrutinize properties selected by the negotiation team to maximize their potential.
- Creation of Approval Materials: Drafting materials that articulate the significance and risks of store openings so that management can make swift and accurate decisions.
- Consensus Building: Coordinating with relevant departments to obtain necessary approvals.
Monitoring and Optimization of Store Opening Costs
You will act as a "gatekeeper" to ensure projects are completed within the approved budget.
- Budget Management: Monitoring the progress of initial costs and renovation expenses related to store openings.
- Cost Control: Monitoring to prevent unplanned cost increases and proposing corrective measures or alternatives when issues arise.
Standardization of Store Development Processes and Cross-functional Support
You will promote "system building" to increase the productivity of the entire Store Operations Division.
- Development of Business Processes: Visualizing and standardizing store development and renovation processes that have become overly dependent on specific individuals, and building efficient workflows.
- Cross-functional Support: Acting as a coordinator between departments to resolve bottlenecks and provide horizontal support to ensure projects proceed smoothly.
- Knowledge Accumulation: Analyzing past data on store openings and renovations to create rules that will be applied to future projects.
