The Business Development Officer will be responsible in managing and administering marketing and business development plans and initiatives (such as member recruitment, retention, savings mobilization and activations) to improve its market position and achieve financial growth.
Reports to: Team Leader/Branch Manager
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Perspective
Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the Company at an agreed growth oriented annual target and follow through on potential new business opportunities.
Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies
Oversee recruitment of new members by setting up initiatives that will support acquisition.
Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
Customer Perspective
Ensuring regular, timely and effective member communication.
Conduct Marketing activities based on knowledge of the customers segments and target market, so as to deliver products and services that satisfy the market segments.
Responsible for customer relations and maintaining the Company’s image.
Ensure provision of education and training programs to the group members.
Identify target and potential markets and design ways to consistently communicate the brand and products in all marketing activities.
Handling all marketing and sales activities of the Company in your area of operations
Promotion of Company products and loans for member uptake.
Contacting members to inform them about new developments in the Companys products.
Internal Processes
Planning and implementing marketing initiatives.
Putting in place structures that foster excellent customer service delivery.
Proactively provide information, history, continuity, support and guidance to all governance bodies and members, in conjunction with the staff team.
Development, launching and promotion of value adding products.
Learning and Growth
Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.
Keep abreast of the industry trends and make use of new knowledge obtained.
Other roles and responsibilities may be assigned to you from time to time by the management
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance related field
2 years’ experience in Business Development environment, specifically in a MFI, Sacco, or in a bank.
In-depth Knowledge of MFI Regulations and operations
