What do we expect from you?

We aim at finding our Business Development & Partnerships Manager.
You will focus at first to our 50+ short and mid-term rental traditional houses (link here), with the following responsibilities:

• Manage, motivate, and develop a team of 5 house operations staff, in Tokyo, Kyoto and Kanazawa.
• Ensure all properties meet our quality, cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and property inspections.
• Work closely with customer service, sales, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Manage relationships with property owners, external suppliers (cleaning, maintenance), contractors, and local partners (city hall, neighbors associations).
• Contribute to the expansion and continuous improvement of our portfolio.
• Reporting: Monitor occupancy, guest feedback, operational performance indicators, budgets and operational costs.

Who are you?

• You have previous experience managing hospitality, accommodation, property management, or rental operations.
• You have demonstrated leadership experience and enjoy managing and developing teams.
• You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-driven. You remain calm under pressure.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are customer-focused and committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
• Experience with short-term rental platforms, hospitality operations, or traditional Japanese properties is a strong advantage.
• Professional proficiency in English and Japanese (Native, N1 or N2) is required; French language skills are a plus.
• You are a resident of Japan with a valid work permit.

For all these missions a gross monthly remuneration is proposed comprising the following 2 elements:

• Fixed part of 450 000 - 500 000 yens (depending on experience)

• Annual bonus linked to the achievement of your OKR (Objective Key Results)

We offer a 正社員 contract with a 3-month trial period, renewable for 2 months.

You may need to work on some week-ends to support your team.

Position is based in Tokyo, in our office in Kagurazaka, where 35 other Japan Experience team members work.

Business trips needed to Kyoto (twice a month), Kanazawa and Takayama (3 times a year)

You will report to Product Team Director, based in Tokyo.

The position is opened from July 1st.

1. A 15/30 min first interview with HR person in charge
2. 1h meeting with Product Team Director
3. 30 min meeting to assess your team spirit skills, with another manager
4. 30 min with Japan Experience CEO
