Role Overview / Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead business development efforts across the Collins Aerospace and Defense portfolio with a specific focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Turkey, and Pakistan. This position will be responsible for driving product-agnostic growth across Collins Aerospace’s full portfolio, including defense solutions, while leveraging expertise in Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and U.S. Government (USG) procurement processes. The ideal candidate will excel in regional prospecting, defense market engagement, customer relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and long-term partnerships in these key markets.

This role will preferably be based with our Collins team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Job Description:

Product-Agnostic Portfolio Coverage with Defense Focus:

- Drive business development opportunities across Collins Aerospace’s full portfolio, including all Strategic Business Units (SBUs), sustainment offerings, and defense-specific solutions.

- Ensure a comprehensive approach to regional market penetration, leveraging the full breadth of the company’s aerospace and defense capabilities.

- Act as a key driver of Collins Aerospace’s defense strategy, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities in military and government sectors.

Regional Prospecting, Opportunity Conversion, and Pursuit Governance:

- Hold full accountability for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities in KSA, Turkey, and Pakistan, with a focus on defense.

- Lead pursuit governance efforts to ensure strategic alignment and effective consumption choices across opportunities, particularly in defense-related programs and contracts.

- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of defense DCS & FMS opportunities to drive sustainable revenue expansion.

Key Account & Stakeholder Management:

- Establish and nurture senior-level relationships with key customers, including military organizations, defense ministries, government entities, and commercial partners, to strengthen long-term partnerships.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to key defense accounts, ensuring alignment with their mission-critical needs and objectives.

Customer Engagement & Representation:

- Act as the senior representative of Collins Aerospace in the region, leading executive engagements and negotiations for defense in aforementioned region.

- Drive high-value deal closures, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic priorities, including defense-related pursuits.

- Represent the organization effectively in government, military, and industry forums to enhance the company’s visibility and influence.

Reporting & Executive Communication:

- Provide regular updates to senior leadership, including performance metrics, strategic insights, and recommendations for defense initiatives.

- Ensure transparent and timely communication of regional developments and progress, with a focus on defense program opportunities and risks.

International Business Exposure

- Proven experience operating across multiple regions (e.g., APAC, EMEA, Americas)

- Exposure to long sales cycles and complex deal structures

- Ownership of revenue targets and pipeline development:

Achieve revenue targets,
Manage pursuits,
Grow pipeline


Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

-Experience engaging C-suite or senior government/enterprise stakeholders
Prior Business Development experience in the defense sector- Deep understanding of the aerospace and defense industry- Familiarity with competitive landscapes and procurement processes (DCS, FMF, FMS)


Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience in business development or related roles, with a strong focus on aerospace, defense, DCS, FMS, and USG procurement processes.
Culturally astute, appreciates differences and leverages those differences to inform regional/country business development strategies
Excellent Communication (written & verbal) & presentation ability in English
Relevant Work experience would be:·
Prior Business Development experience in the defense sector·
Prior work experience in the Middle East & Africa region·
Prior work experience in a highly regulated industry, similar to aerospace / defense for a large organization with a geographically dispersed workforce and a highly matrixed work environment·
Prior work experience in defense leveraging stakeholder relationships to influence executive policy, regulation, legislation and stakeholder procurement decisions·
Prior experience in developing a cross-functional collaborative team-based approach to strategy, pursuit, and stakeholder relationship development - demonstrating the ability to build credibility and interaction through influencing suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders.
Ability to travel frequently (50%) across MEA and internationally as maybe required
Ability to think strategically and recognize trends and business opportunities and marshal resources to pursue them.
Demonstrates an understanding of the social, political and economic global trends and is able to interpret impact to the business and recommend adjustment to strategies appropriately.
Strong business acumen, problem solving and financial skills
Well, organized with ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Leadership
Proficiency in MS Office suite tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint , Word , Excel


Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Ability to communicate in the Arabic Language
Military experience is a plus

Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
