Job Title: Commercial Director – North Asia (Japan and Korea)

The Commercial Director will lead the development and execution of Sales, Marketing and Customer Success strategies to drive business growth in Japan. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising programmes that support the organisation's legal and compliance technology products, services, and market positioning.
The successful candidate will work across the commercial organisation to drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and enhance market engagement while ensuring alignment with divisional and regional priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement marketing programmes and pricing strategies aligned with divisional priorities.
Design and execute sales programmes to achieve business objectives and revenue targets.
Develop a comprehensive Customer Success strategy, supporting managers across all stages of the customer lifecycle, including pre-sales, onboarding, adoption, and ongoing engagement.
Provide leadership and direction to Marketing, Sales and Customer Success teams through managers, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Oversee departmental performance, ensuring accountability for results and a culture of continuous improvement.
Execute functional business plans and contribute to the development of long-term commercial strategy.
Make decisions guided by divisional strategy, market priorities, and business objectives.
Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders across the Japanese market.
Collaborate effectively with regional and global teams to support business growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Proven experience in commercial leadership roles spanning sales, marketing, and customer-facing functions.
Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with experience leading through managers.
Deep understanding of the Japanese market, customer expectations, and business culture.
Strong commercial acumen and experience driving business growth and revenue performance.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
Fluent Japanese and business-level English.
