Job Description

Who we are looking for

The SSGA Japan ITM Fund Administrator is expected to perform ITM fund administration and oversight for fund accounting outsourcing agent, especially performing daily NAV issuance to distributions and fund financial closing processing is one of key responsibilities. You will report to the ITM Fund Account team manager in Japan.

You will interact with various key stakeholders including Client facing teams, Investment teams, Fund Accounting Outsourcing Agent, Trust Bank, Distributors, Overseas Operation teams, Brokers, external fund auditor, etc.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform daily processes around ITM fund accounting including subscription/redemption processes with distributors, submissions of instructions to trustees and an outsourcing agent, NAV issuances to distributions, and fund financial closing processing.
  • Oversee processes that have been outsourced to the outsourcing agent
  • Prepare / Review ITM monthly reports submitted to the Investment Trusts Association, Japan (IMAJ) and the Bank of Japan (BOJ)
  • Respond to any ITM relevant inquires raised by the trustees or outsourcing agency
  • Communicate with an external auditor with regard to fund financial statements
  • Support a new ITM fund launch as a specialist of ITM Fund Accounting
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of daily ITM operations.
  • Develop leadership skills within the ITM Fund Accounting group as part of longer-term career development.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Experience in operations within an asset management company
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ITM Fund Accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with the asset management industry, including relevant regulations and industry association rules
  • Advanced knowledge of T-Star/TXNative
  • Japanese and English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to leverage AI enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar enterprise AI solutions) and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce operational risk, analysis and decision making
