The CIM Engineer is responsible for integrating, developing, and maintaining computer systems that support semiconductor manufacturing processes. This role focuses on improving factory efficiency, automation, and data utilization by leveraging manufacturing systems such as MES and equipment automation solutions.
1. System Development & Support
Develop and maintain applications for equipment automation and manufacturing systems
Support MES (e.g., PROMIS) to ensure stable 24/7 operations, including handling system incidents through an on-call duty rotation during nights, weekends, and holidays.
Analyze and troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions
2. Process Improvement & Automation
Improve manufacturing efficiency through system automation
Support optimization of production workflow using IT solutions
Implement system enhancements to reduce manual operations
3. Requirement & Project Management
Gather requirements from manufacturing users
Design and implement solutions aligned with business needs
Participate in global projects and system deployment
4. Collaboration & Communication
Communicate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Production)
Work with global IT teams on system standardization and rollout
Provide technical support and training to end users
Technical trade's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
Experience in application development or system engineering (3+ years recommended)
Understanding of manufacturing systems (MES, automation)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Programming skills (e.g., Java, .NET, SQL)
Business English skill (TOEIC 490)
Japanese Language Proficiency: JLPT N2 level or above
Valid work authorization that permits employment in Japan at the time of application
