Your Job
As a Product Test Engineer you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests for automotive connectors. You will analyze test data, prepare reports in Japanese and English, and collaborate closely with development, quality, manufacturing, and global lab teams to ensure product reliability and compliance with customer and international standards.
Our Team
You will join the Transportation Solutions Execution Japan team within TIS (Transportation Innovative Solutions) Japan Connector Engineering, based in Yokohama (Minato Mirai).
Our team supports automotive connectivity solutions, working cross‑functionally and globally to enable high‑quality, innovative products for connected and autonomous vehicles.
What You Will Do
• Plan and arrange electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing for automotive connectors
• Develop test plans based on customer specifications and international standards
• Review and validate test fixtures and test methodologies
• Analyze test data and prepare test reports in Japanese and English
• Perform root cause analysis and propose countermeasures when issues are identified
• Collaborate with development, quality assurance, and manufacturing engineering teams
• Work closely with domestic and overseas laboratory teams
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering
• Hands‑on evaluation/testing experience with connectors, harnesses, or electronic components
• Ability to analyze evaluation data using Excel and basic statistical methods
• Strong quality mindset with logical problem‑solving skills
• Education: Technical college or university graduate (Bachelor’s degree or higher), preferably in mechanical engineering
• Proactive, self‑driven, and able to lead tasks and resolve issues independently
• Collaborative team player who builds relationships with sincerity and respect
• Language skills:
○ Japanese: Native level
○ English: Business level
What Will Put You Ahead
• 3+ years of evaluation/testing experience with connectors, harnesses, or electronic components
• Experience in the automotive industry (testing, quality, or development)
• Knowledge of international standards and OEM specifications (e.g., USCAR, JASO)
• Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, and DRBFM
• Ability to communicate technically in English with global stakeholders
