Eku Energy is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager for Japan to join our vibrant team. As a Finance Manager, you will be ensuring management and financial systems are in place and compliant with Eku Group recommended tools.

Requirements

Responsibilities of the role

Core Accounting:

· Complete month-end and year-end financial close and balance sheet reconciliations with support from the outsourced service provider.

· Manage the year-end audit with Group statutory auditors and liaise with Group finance to meet reporting deadlines.

· Ensure proper allocation of costs via POs/invoices to all cost centers and project cost codes.

· Review and finalize management accounts reports to agreed Group reporting deadlines in coordination with the APAC Head of Finance.

Project Costs and Reporting:

·Prepare monthly project actual spend for updating project cost reports.

·Manage securities (bank guarantees, security deposits, and parent company guarantees for the project).

Financial Planning:

·Prepare budget and monitor performance compared to the budget.

·Support cost center managers and project managers with budget and forecast tracking.

·Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections.

Bank Account Management:

· Manage project bank accounts, including internet banking.

·Ensure payments are processed in accordance with the Group delegation of authority.

Loan Management:

·Manage loan repayment, information covenant, hedging payments/receipts, and communicate with the hedging provider.

·Prepare debt drawdown and withdrawal notices, including remaining costs to completion calculations.

·Provide hedge accounting for interest rate swap, FX hedge, and commodity hedge.

Tax Compliance:

·Ensure compliance with all Japanese corporate taxes.

Systems:

·Provide support for all system development activities and ensure localized ERP system meets local requirements.

Process Improvement:

· Drive process improvement projects and other ad hoc project work.

Accountabilities:

·Provide comprehensive accounting and management reporting services supporting the activities and needs of the Japan business and the wider Eku Group.

·Ensure accurate and timely reporting from Japanese entities.

·Conduct all financial-related activities in Japan in accordance with the Group delegation of authority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

· Qualified Finance Professional (ACCA/CA/CPA).

· Ideally of 5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in the energy industry.

· Considerable knowledge of IFRS and Japan accounting standards.

· Working knowledge of Japan Corporate tax and JCT regulations.

· Computer literate with excellent skills in accounting software & Excel.

· Strong ability to work cross-functionally.

· Strong communication skills.

· Fluent in Japanese and English.
