The Position
Role Purpose:
As the disease strategy liaison , you will be responsible for developing commercial disease strategy as well as driving its execution across all customer areas for the respective disease area.
As execution, you will strategically engage and collaborate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in a specific therapeutic area. The goal is to build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs who have significant influence and expertise in their respective fields in order to achieve business goals, enhance scientific exchange, and ultimately make a positive impact in the therapeutic area.
It is an integrated role; you will work closely with regional clinical stakeholders directly touching the Diabetes patient journey in order to shape the cancer care ecosystem and impact patient outcome.
In this role, you will:
Disease and go to market strategy
Lead disease strategy development by identifying gaps along the patient journey, with an aim to identify investment opportunities and to shape the ecosystem.
Develop and drive strategy and focus area according to market maturity
Partner with MSA, respective sales teams and marketing chapters to develop a clinician engagement strategy to drive clinical uptake of Roche/Partner's solutions and lead the disease squads
Work with regional value streams, chapters, and potentially global teams.
Co-develop new business model to current care pathways by collaborating with other teams and external partners
Own commercial expertise; act as architect and catalyst of disease management topics for internal stakeholders.
KOL management
Identify and build relationships with key opinion leaders in the relevant industry or therapeutic area.
Develop and implement strategies to engage and collaborate with KOLs to support business objectives.
Plan and organize advisory board meetings, symposia, and other events involving KOLs.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, medical affairs, and sales, to align KOL strategies with overall company goals.
Monitoring and analyzing KOL activities and trends, and providing regular reports and insights to management.
Staying up-to-date with the latest scientific and clinical developments in the field to effectively communicate with KOLs including answering their questions and addressing any concerns and align with the company's strategy.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies in all KOL-related activities.
To perform in this role, you have / are :
Experience and knowledge in building strategy for high clinical value arena with proven ability to engage clinician stakeholder
Experience and knowledge in implementing KOL management framework ( KOL list maintenance, tracking, heatmap etc)
Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results
Proven experience leading cross functional teams in an agile environment
Proven ability to identify collaboration opportunities and build long term trusted relationships with external and internal stakeholders
Collaborative mindset and a non-territorial attitude,
Familiarity with the trends and their relevance to the healthcare industry in the respective therapeutic areas.
Passionate in improving clinical practice and patient outcome; passionate about diabetes-related topics
Outside the box thinking and comfortable to challenge the status quo
Comfortable with taking risks, experiment and learn, and stop any activity that is not adding value
Able to act on key decisions and opportunities, and strong execution capability
System thinker with the ability to identify shared purpose among stakeholders in the ecosystem and at the same time able to connect the dots across various customer areas solutions
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree is a must, background in Science, MSc / MBA is a plus.
Native or equivalent level in Japanese, Fluency in English is a plus (read and write in English such as emails, reading scientific publications is a must)
At least 5 years of work experience in the KOL management related functions.
Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
Strategic thinking and planning skill with proven analytical and forward-looking thought process.
Proven commercial acumen with strong understanding of financials.
Stakeholder management skill with the experience of collaborations with cross-functional teams and different types of external stakeholders.
Clinician engagement experience (such as MR in charge of top tier hospitals and national level KOLs) is a must
