Job Description

Position Summary
Lead Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across one or more large-scale construction projects. Act as the primary HSE lead on site, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving a strong safety culture, and supporting safe project delivery.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and implement the site HSE strategy and management system

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and compliance reviews

  • Manage risk assessments and permit-to-work processes

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses

  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and engagement

  • Monitor and improve contractor HSE performance

  • Prepare and present HSE reports to project stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Mentor and support junior HSE professionals

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company HSE standards



Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications



  • Business-level Japanese and English (mandatory)

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification

  • 10+ years of HSE experience

  • Data centre and/or large-scale construction project experience preferred


Key Competencies



  • Strong communication skills with clients, contractors, and site teams

  • Confident leadership style with the ability to enforce HSE standards

  • Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks

  • Self-driven and able to work independently


Reporting Line & Stakeholder Management



  • Client-facing role

  • Reports to Project Director / Account Leadership

  • May manage a site HSE team
