The Role
Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, guide, and support the International Reservations team to ensure accurate product representation and high-quality guest interactions.
- Support team training on reservation software, product and resort knowledge, and effective sales and communication techniques.
- Monitor team performance and offer feedback to optimize booking conversion rates and minimize operational errors.
- Serve as the main point of contact for complex problem-solving and handling escalated international guest or agent inquiries.
- Act as senior Reservations team member leading both Domestic and International teams in the absence of department managers.
Rate, Revenue & Inventory Management
- Work closely with the Management and Systems teams to load and verify rate accuracy across platforms.
- Manage room inventory and availability across distribution channels to maximize occupancy.
- Monitor room sales performance to evaluate and apply staff/family discounts as well as guest discount requests.
- Strategically promote low-occupancy properties and utilize upgrades to ensure balanced room distribution across property owners.
Agent & Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Assist the Reservations and Sales Manager in liaising with OTAs regarding rates, availability, performance, and feedback.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop and market attractive stay packages, promotions, and special offers.
- Handle specialized, high-value accommodation requests (e.g., penthouse bookings) to deliver an extraordinary guest experience.
- Provide operational support and training to front-of-house hotel teams on handling in-house guest requests such as date shifts, quotes, and room changes.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English (Business level required).
- Proven experience in hotel reservations, front desk, or sales environments.
- Understanding of hotel yield management principles, pricing strategies, and distribution channels.
- Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and mentor team members to reach sales goals.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Property Management Systems (PMS) or hotel reservation software is preferred.
- Japanese language proficiency is an advantage.
- Detailed knowledge of Niseko as a resort destination and HTM’s property portfolio is preferred.
- Experience in hotel reservations or hospitality sales.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Prior living or working experience in the Niseko area is an advantage.
Employment Package Details
Employment Status: Ongoing contract with visa sponsorship available
Contract Value: ¥5,040,000 to ¥5,700,000
(The above remuneration will be divided by 14 and paid monthly with two annual bonuses.)
Location: Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan
Working Hours: average 40 hours per week (shift times vary by season)
