Ideals Virtual Data Room (VDR): Secure document sharing and collaboration for due diligence, fundraising, corporate reporting, licensing, clinical trials, and other complex transactions.

The role

Based in Tokyo, you will lead field marketing initiatives and execute integrated campaigns in Japan.

Working closely with the regional and global marketing team, this role turns our global positioning, campaign strategy, and ABM framework into sharp, locally resonant programs for Tier 1 financial services accounts and corporates.

You will also manage the regional integrated campaigns budget. This is a strategy and execution role: you will help shape the regional plan and then run it - designing and executing full-funnel, account-focused campaigns that combine digital, ABM, Sales plays, content, and high-impact in-person and virtual executive events, ensuring every touchpoint is orchestrated to drive meetings, opportunities and revenue in the region.

Office location: Marunouchi Nijubashi Building (Hybrid / Remote-first)
Note: While in-person event execution and face-to-face meetings with the sales team require on-site presence or travel, day-to-day work can be done remotely from home.

Why Ideals?

  • Market-leading position: 18+ years in the VDR business, top-rated on G2 and UpGuard, powering 10%+ of global M&A activity, with a 31% CAGR against competitors' 11%.

  • Trusted by talent: Ideals US & UK earned the 2026 Great Place to Work certification, based on a 98% positive employee response rate.

  • Real growth trajectory: Profitable and bootstrapped, with 5x revenue growth and unicorn status targeted in the next five years.

What you will do

1. Regional growth & pipeline strategy

  • Co-own the Japan growth and pipeline plan with the Regional Japan Sales: define target segments, Tier 1 & 2 account lists, key use cases and pipeline goals.

  • Translate global positioning and ABM strategy into a clear regional marketing plan with priorities, campaigns and hypotheses.

  • Identify whitespace, upsell/expansion opportunities and recommend where to focus marketing and sales effort.

2. Integrated campaign planning & execution

  • Build and run multi-channel campaigns for priority accounts and segments (investment banks, PE, advisories and related financial institutions).

  • Orchestrate digital, content, ABM, SDR and event motions into coherent journeys - from first touch to executive meeting and opportunity creation.

  • Localise global campaigns and narratives so they resonate with Japanese buyers, regulations and buying cycles.

3. Field marketing & executive events

  • Own Japan executive events strategy: C-level roundtables, dinners, briefings, conference activations and bespoke experiences in and around Tokyo and other key hubs.

  • Ensure events are not standalone activities but anchored in campaigns with clear pre-event air cover and rigorous post-event follow-up.

  • Partner with Sales and SDRs to qualify attendees, build the right attendee list, and convert event interest into concrete next steps and opportunities.

4. Sales & BDM partnership

  • Act as the day-to-day marketing counterpart for Japan sales and BDM teams.

  • Co-create account plans and plays for Tier 1 accounts: target personas, outreach angles, offers, content and follow-up flows.

  • Equip BDMs with campaign toolkits (email sequences, call talk tracks, snippets, decks, one-pagers) aligned to each integrated program.

5. ABM & account-based plays

  • Work closely with the global ABM and Digital teams to deliver 1:few and 1:many ABM programs for strategic accounts in the region.

  • Use intent data, engagement signals and sales insight to prioritise accounts and design next-best-action plays.

  • Test and refine offers, formats and channels to improve meeting rates and opportunity creation in Tier 1 buying teams.

6. Measurement, insight & optimisation

  • Define KPIs and success metrics for all campaigns (engagement, meetings, opportunities, pipeline, revenue influence).

  • Monitor performance in real time; bring clear, data-backed recommendations on where to double down, pivot or stop.

  • Partner with RevOps and Marketing Ops to ensure clean tracking across CRM and marketing platforms, enabling accurate reporting to Sales and leadership.

7. Voice of the customer & market

  • Stay close to what’s happening in the Japan financial districts - what customers are saying, what competitors are doing, and what’s changing in the market

  • Share clear, simple insights with Product Marketing, Content and leadership.

  • Find real customer stories and use cases from the region and work with the team to turn them into strong materials for campaigns and sales teams to use.

What you bring

  • Native Japanese Proficiency

  • Business English Proficiency

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with a focus on integrated campaigns, field marketing, ABM or demand generation

  • Proven track record in end-to-end field marketing execution, including managing physical/virtual events (targeting a minimum of 10+ events per year)

  • Comfortable operating as both strategic planner and hands-on operator – from shaping the regional plan with leadership to executing the details

  • Strong relationship-building skills; able to become a trusted partner to senior sales leaders and credible in conversations with C-level stakeholders

  • Data-literate and experiment-minded: able to read dashboards, interpret performance, and propose clear next steps

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to turn complex ideas into sharp, compelling narratives for senior decision-makers

  • Based around/in Tokyo with the ability to spend periodic time in person with Sales and customers across Tokyo as needed (expect c. 20 to 30% travel for events and account visits)

Nice to have

  • ABM experience

  • Demonstrated experience co-planning pipeline with sales and owning programs that lead to meetings and opportunities, not just activity.
