Job description
Hitachi Digital Services Japan, which is the HDS’s Japan country office, is strengthening its offshore engineering services leveraging development centers in Vietnam and India, building a global delivery structure that combines high quality and cost competitiveness.
What you’ll be doing
Onsite Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact at the Japan office to gather requirements, lead meetings, and handle direct client communications.
Incident & Problem Solving: Receive client feedback, analyze system behavior, and actively reproduce cloud application bugs to determine solutions.
Team Leadership: Manage daily task assignments, coordinate workloads, and monitor the delivery progress of a 5-member development team.
Technical Mentoring: Provide technical direction and Java-based solutions to team members tackling complex engineering challenges.
System Operations: Perform regular system health checks, execute log investigations, and aggregate/analyze CSV data for reporting.
What you bring to the team
Language: JLPT N2 or above with native-level fluency (capable of independently structuring logical arguments, drafting formal emails, and presenting to Japanese clients).
Core Technology: Solid background and hands-on experience in Java Web Application development.
Cloud Platform: Practical knowledge of the AWS ecosystem (including EC2, RDS, ELB, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, S3, SQS, and CloudWatch).
Infrastructure Troubleshooting: Proficiency with basic Linux commands and system log investigation (Tomcat, Nginx, ELB).
Leadership & Work Style: Proven track record in team management, strong crisis-management skills, and the ability to work independently under high-pressure, office-first environments.
