Legal Entity Controller - Vice President

If you have experiences with accounting and finance as well as people management experiences, this opportunity is for you! With this opportunity, you will be responsible for overall preparation of local regulatory reporting as well as globally required materials. You will have many opportunities to expand your tasks and responsibilities. There is also a potential opportunity for you to work in our offices in other countries in a few years, if you wish to do so.

As a Legal Entity Controller – Vice President within Corporate & Investment Bank Finance & Business Management, you will be closely supervising and guiding your direct reports including financial reporting and regulatory reports which included both financials and regulatory capital related items.

Job responsibilities

• Manage a team of several people
• Reviewing and assessing the risks regarding our local regulatory capital
• Coordination with product/financial controllers for various businesses
• Enhance controls for all regulatory reports including the processes for capital adequacy ratios
• Monitoring currency hedge processes
• Further automate manual tasks which can be justified by cost/benefit

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Minimum of 10 years of accounting or finance experience, (including 5 years of people management experience) either within a financial institution or as an auditor/advisor
• Soft skills to lead and grow knowledge/skills of team/ensure the well-being of team
• Strong GAAP (J GAAP and/or US GAAP) knowledge is a must
• Solid understanding of financial products, e.g., shorting, margin trade, security borrowing/lending, options, swap, forwards and futures
• Japanese native plus business level English required
• Previous experience with regulatory capital calculation preparation/review required including as an advisor and/or an auditor

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Previous experience with securities company and/or big 4 accounting firms is a plus
• FRM, CFA and/or J-CPA is a plus
