Job Description

Purpose Statement: 
The Accounting Manager adds value to the company by ensuring accurate financial operations, 
compliance with regulations, and efficient use of resources. (S)he contributes to strategic decision-making 
through financial insights, promote a culture of integrity and continuous improvement, 
and foster talent development for long-term success of AbbVie.

Major Responsibilities:
・Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including Procure to Pay, Record to Report
・Ensure compliance with AbbVie finance policies, generally accepted accounting principles (US and Japan) 
and local regulatory requirements mainly but not limited to tax
・Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting
・Ensure the proper internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks 
and educate finance members in compliance with these requirements
・Coordinate and liaise with external, internal, SOX and tax auditors on all requests
・Optimize Treasury activities including banking related activities, working capital, etc.
・Compile and remit monthly withholding taxes, collect My Number information, 
and prepare annual payment statements
・Supervise monthly fixed asset management and physical fixed asset verification
・Collaborate with relevant departments for intercompany billing coordination
・Promote talent development by nurturing internal staff for advancement, 
providing coaching to enhance performance and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion
・Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function
・Works closely with Regional and Corporate Finance Teams, Japan Finance, Commercial and R&D Teams

Financial Shared Service / CoE / Treasury / BPO

Qualifications

Qualifications:
・Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting or Finance, or CPA or equivalent qualification
・Minimum of 7 years relevant controlling experience
・Pharmaceutical and Multinational experience preferred
