We are looking for a Customer (Account) Manager with strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and communication skills. In this role you will have the responsibility to support the growth of the Consumer Solution for Consumer & Electronics – especially Electronics field for Consumer/Industrial Electronics as well as Mobility Space under different segments as- which generates new opportunities through revitalizing the asset and Dow’s technology to seek significant opportunities as deceptive market changes to enable growth and addressable market expansion.

You will coordinate across all functions, including sales, Marketing, TS&D, R&D, communication, and product management as well as with peers, key customers, distributors, and relevant teams in the other geographies. You will have high visibility to the leadership team in Consumer Solution Japan, providing analysis, insight and recommendations on how to advance the growth strategy.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Support and shape the growth strategy for the Consumer Solution Japan business

  • Conduct market and industry analysis to shape overall competitive position and identify opportunities for growth

  • Aggregate customer and market needs across the product portfolio and market segments to identify trends to enhance resource allocation and prioritization

  • Analyze and define the best opportunity for addressable market expansion for the Consumer Solution Business

  • Evaluate business model opportunities – especially digital – to accelerate growth and/or productivity

  • Serve as a trusted advisor across the organization, providing guidance on how to build a competitive advantage despite market and customer uncertainties

  • Author project proposals that will help the business test and learn how to capture additional value in Specialties

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include:

  • High self-initiative and strong project management skills
  • Analytical mindset that is comfortable to work on unstructured problems
  • Customer and market orientation with strong bias towards value creation
  • Collaborative team worker and builder across functions and geographies, effective influencer
  • Strategic thinker, problem solver, result and action oriented

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience – electronics field

    Up to 50% travel, mostly domestic

  • Fluency in Japanese, Advanced Level in verbal and written English

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A degree discipline in Chemical, Engineering, business or Marketing
  • MBA/economic background is a plus
