Manager, Reporting Group in Finance
Basic Function
This position manages general accounting and financial statement reports.This position is responsible for monthly closing procedures and ensuring efficiency of internal controls implemented to support key activities in accounting team.
Primary Accountabilities
- Manages all accounting activities for financial statement preparation, in accordance with IFRS, Japan accounting regulations, and Japan tax regulations.
- Manages inventory/lease/fixed assets/intercompany transaction process and other closing activities including support and collaboration with members overseas.
- Manages/prepares monthly financeial statement and product margin report.
- Maintains/monitoring sales/rebates accounting activities, and pension accounting including monthly reconciliations and analysis and data maintainenace
- Work with other Finance teams, businesses, and other departments as required to improve financial processes and comply with all internal control/audit requirements.
- Prepares legal entity statutory reports and all related schedules
- Prepares various documents as required(e.g. local accounting position paper)
- Manages/assists/joins various project as required(e.g. system implementation initiated by global team)
Education Requirement
University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Economics preferred or equivalent work experience in similar accounting functions or industries.
Minimum Qualifications and skills
- 5- 8+ years of experince in accounting management, financial statement prepartion including operational experinece.
- Japanese – fluent
- English - business level (Verbal and written communication skills with global team in English are required.)
- Knowledge in accounting principles and standards (IFRS or US GAAP).
- Excel skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team autonomously, ability to build strong relationship with business and various stakeholders
- Positive and proactive problem-solving attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience at international environment, matrix organization, and/or in mixed cultures.
- Working experience at accounting/audit firms
- SAP experience
- Knowledge in accounting principles and standards (J-GAAP, Tax).
- Nissho Bookkeeping 1, Japan CPA, US CPA or MBA
