Job Description

Team Summary


Visa is a leading digital payment provider in Japan and drives payment innovations to empower consumers and merchants to pay and be paid more safely, conveniently and seamlessly. The Manager will be a member of Japan Consumer Solutions team that owns product and solutions for consumers in the market, and will play a PMO role for a strategic cross-functional project. The cross-functional team is tasked to drive the strategic project to further grow Visa’s position to be seen and used as the most preferred payment method for everyday spend by consumers, especially Gen-Z, as well as merchants including small-medium size ones. The project’s scope includes new user acquisition and customer engagement enrichment, brand visibility and reputation enhancement, and acceleration of acceptance expansion.


What a Manager, Strategic Project PMO, does at Visa


Visa is looking for a dedicated Strategic Project PMO to join the Product & Solutions team in Tokyo, and be responsible for managing and driving the day-to-day activities of all of the initiatives in the project, partnering clients and merchants, and ensuring every initiative is successfully completed on time and within budget.


Key responsibilities of the role include



  • Support PMO lead to oversee the full project management life cycle for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, and develop and maintain a comprehensive project management framework and governance tools specific to the project

  • Manage and drive the development and implementation of every Product related initiative in partnership with the assigned subject matter experts and other team members

  • Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to increase campaign participation of issuers

  • Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance customer engagement solutions for the project, and ensure flawless execution

  • Co-develop new campaign method and approach with marketing team and run PDCA cycle to develop best practices based on data analysis

  • Work with data science and finance team to measure business and financial performance and KPIs to keep the project on track

  • Identify risks, and design and propose new development and amendment of the project related activities for risk mitigation to PMO lead

  • Bring new ideas of the project related activities to increase success probability of the overall project and maximize its outcomes

  • Work with PMO lead to prepare and present project and program status reports to senior management and other stakeholders

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, and make detailed records for logging best practices


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What do you need



  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of project management experience with proven record of accomplishment of success.

  • Deep experience in managing complex cross-functional and cross-regional projects and superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and manage project cross functional teams.

  • Keen attention to detail and organized and committed to execution and continuous project enhancement.

  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills that can effectively engage and influence project team members as well as leaders.

  • A proactive and collaborative professional who can work independently with teams and be courageous, accountable and willing to challenge the status quo, and drive innovation.

  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities.

  • Keen interest in the evolving landscape of payments and fintechs industry, and strong motivation to lead the positive changes of the cashless in Japan and global

  • Full professional level in Japanese with the ability to engage effectively in both written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Business level in English
