Position:

Why We Hire

Supporting the "Innovating Asset Building" mission with non-stop infrastructure.
As a "partner in asset building," Rakuten Securities continues to challenge the status quo by turning investment from an "extraordinary" activity into an "everyday" one. Our system operations team is the backbone that supports mission-critical systems 24/7, ensuring that millions of users can manage their assets safely anytime, anywhere.

As our services scale rapidly, the complexity of our traffic and system configurations has reached an unprecedented level. Building a more robust and flexible operational structure without compromising our speed of evolution is our top management priority. We are seeking a leader who can take their experience in vendor control and incident response to the next level by "designing and improving the operational process itself."

Position Details

As an operations leader, you will oversee the stable operation of large-scale financial systems. You will go beyond routine maintenance to update the "nature of operations" from both technical and organizational perspectives, building a foundation that drives business growth.

- Leading and Developing the Operations Team: Manage the operations team and nurture its members. Lead the creation of a culture where the team autonomously identifies issues and repeats improvement cycles.

- Driving Service Improvement through Data: Actively analyze SNS feedback and Voice of Customer (VOC) data to identify service issues from an operational perspective. Plan and propose improvements to enhance user experience and collaborate with development departments to maximize service value.

- Modernizing Operations and Process Reform: Thoroughly review existing operational processes to promote automation and efficiency. Eliminate manual tasks to build a highly reproducible and reliable operational structure, allowing the team to focus on high-value tasks.

- Command Center for Mission-Critical Incidents: During large-scale system incidents, lead the swift initial response, root cause analysis, and formulation of preventative measures. Drive deep-seated solutions, including architectural improvements and operational design reviews.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in large-scale system operation/maintenance or as an infrastructure engineer.

- Experience in mission-critical system operations. Proven track record in leading root cause analysis and formulating preventative measures beyond standard manual-based tasks.

- Deep technical understanding of server/network infrastructure (Linux/Windows server construction/operation, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers).

- Experience in operational process improvement and automation (e.g., using scripts/tools to improve efficiency or standardizing procedures to raise quality).

- Knowledge and practical experience in security measures (vulnerability management, patch management, access control) suitable for financial services.

- Experience in team management and vendor control, leading development partners to maintain quality standards.

Desired Qualifications:

- Operational design experience: Leading service-in and operational design considering non-functional requirements.

- Cloud operations experience (AWS/Azure/GCP): Knowledge of construction and operation in hybrid environments.

- Database knowledge: Experience in large-scale DB operation and performance tuning.

- Automation/Configuration management skills: Python/Shell automation, IaC (Terraform/Ansible) usage.

- Knowledge of operational frameworks (e.g., ITIL).

- Project management experience: Successfully completing projects as a PM or Team Leader.

- Interest in SRE: Commitment to SLI/SLO formulation and improving observability.
