Job Description

Ares Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) Japan is looking for a Principal, Product Manager, the position will play a key role in supporting product development and management functions in Japan. This role will work directly with senior management across the Asia WMS team on a variety of product initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact for distributors to ensure the product requirements and launch timelines are met with high quality specification. The candidate will work with the Head of Product Management Asia and various global teams to build out the local product development and management platform that drives Asia WMS to its long-term growth and development in Japan.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with AWMS Asia and global investment teams to build out the Japan wealth solutions platform focusing on local product structuring and management, in order to drive AWMS to its long-term growth in the region.
Lead Japan product development and management process by closely communicating with Asia Head of Product, local sales team, and other internal parties, to ensure products meet the distribution requirements for the local private wealth management channel.
Serve as the primary point of contact for distributors throughout the product development process, build strong relationships and maintain regular communication and coordination with AWMS product teams.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets as appropriate. Conduct regular status meetings with clients, provide updates on project progress and proactively address any concerns to ensure client expectations are properly managed.
Lead and manage Japan's client servicing with wealth distributors, from onboarding and throughout the lifecycle of client relationship. Assuming a hands-on role, where necessary, to ensure high standard of clients' service delivery and drive the resolution of queries in a timely manner.
Create and update fund due diligence documents regularly and manage incoming RFPs and other ad-hoc requests.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, share product insights and knowledge to provide best client servicing for distributors.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent, in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field with exceptional academic credentials.

Skills and Abilities Required:

7+ years of product development and management experience in Japan.
Prior Product Management experience in Alternative Investments or Wealth Management firms preferred.
Fluent in both Japanese and English with exceptional written and verbal communication, and the ability to build rapport and establish trust with both internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated team player with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness.
High level of expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and written skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
