Job Responsibilities:
- Project Management (PM) Tasks (70% of total workload):
- Defining the overall project scope, formulating schedules and scenarios to achieve milestones, and managing progress.
- Monitoring, evaluating, setting goals for, and developing Project Team Members (PTMs).
- Leading project escalations involving relevant departments and driving resolutions when issues arise.
- Ensuring compliance with and promoting Valeo’s values, culture, standards (products, methods, tools), ethical guidelines, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements within the team
- Cost and Profitability Management (30% of total workload):
- Achieve project profitability targets (product development, return on development investment, margins, etc.).
- Define and manage project budgets (including assigned systems).
- Prepare and submit investment requests (CAA/IAR), and review and challenge costs submitted by team members.
- Apply “Design to Cost” methodologies and promptly escalate deviations from targets to senior management.
- Customer Relations and Communication Management:
- Change management for internal and external stakeholders (including internal teams and domestic/international automakers) and coordination within the team.
- Preparation of decision-making processes for various committees and governance stages, as well as the creation and verification of progress reports.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with domestic and international customers (local and central) and providing timely updates on project progress.
- Quality Control and Organizational Management (Quality-Related Operations):
- Overall management to ensure the achievement of project quality objectives.
- In the event of defects or quality issues, driving resolution in collaboration with relevant departments and providing explanations and reports to customers.
Job Qualification:
- Professional experience in the automotive industry (technical background or knowledge is mandatory).
- Production management experience in the field of mechatronics.
- Product knowledge and hands-on experience with SMT/PCBA, OR hands-on experience/understanding of software refreshing (particular emphasis is placed on SMT/PCBA product knowledge).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project team management or leadership experience (managing multiple members).
- Project management experience with telematics products.
- Deep understanding of SMT/PCBA products (candidates with a sales background will also be considered if they possess strong product understanding).
- In the absence of SMT/PCBA product experience, knowledge and experience with similar products (such as electronic components).
Language proficiency: Business Level Japanese (JLPT N2) and Business Level english.
