Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Governance & Strategic Leadership:
    • End-to-End Project Management: Lead the entire lifecycle of OEM/OES component and system development projects, from scope definition and production preparation to final launch.
    • Profitability & Quality Maximization: Take full accountability for achieving project KPIs, including product/development profitability, Development Activity Payback, Extended Margin, and quality targets.
    • Budget & Resource Management: Define and manage project budgets (including sub-projects within the system) and secure/optimize necessary project resources.

  • Customer Engagement & Business Growth:
    • Relationship Management: Act as the primary interface for both local and central teams of global/domestic OEMs, building and maintaining strong, trust-based partnerships.
    • Technical Proposals & Order Acquisition: Lead concept competitions on a case-by-case basis to secure new customer orders and business opportunities.

  • Global & Cross-Functional Team Management:
    • Functional Leadership: Serve as the functional leader for Project Team Members (PTMs)?setting project objectives, conducting performance appraisals, and driving competency development (AAI).
    • Issue Resolution & Escalation: Proactively identify gaps against targets, resolve cross-functional development challenges, and utilize the project escalation path with speed and anticipation when management support is required.

  • Process Excellence & Governance:
    • Cost Optimization: Rigorously apply "Design to Cost" methodologies to meet and exceed financial targets.
    • Committee & Milestone Readiness: Prepare decision-making materials for governance stages (PSC, PMC, etc.), challenge team readiness, and submit critical project approvals (CAA, IAR) at the project/system level.
    • Compliance & Corporate Culture: Promote and ensure compliance with company values, methodology standards, Code of Ethics, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements within the team.

Job Qualification:

  • 5+ years of practical experience in project management within the automotive industry (Tier 1 suppliers or OEMs).
  • Solid foundational technical knowledge in component or system development .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the internal processes (P1/P2 projects, CAA/IAR, Design to Cost, etc.) or a deep understanding of similar automotive industry standard processes.
  • Experience leading cross-border (multinational) teams. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with specific automotive development frameworks and gate-review processes (eg, P1/P2 project phases, CAA/IAR approvals, Design to Cost), or deep understanding of equivalent industry standards.
  • Experience leading cross-border or multicultural teams.

Language proficiency: Business Level Japanese (JLPT N2) and Business Level english.
