About the team

Kinaxis is seeking a Regional HR Advisor – Japan to serve as a trusted, in‑country people advisor for our Japan organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting managers and employees, navigating local employment practices, and ensuring global HR programs are delivered effectively and appropriately in Japan.

This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working close to the business, is trusted for their judgment and neutrality, and thrives at the intersection of people advisory, local execution, and program delivery.

What you will do

Manager & Employee Advisory (Approx. 50%)

  • Act as a trusted, neutral HR advisor for managers and employees in Japan
  • Coach managers on performance management and feedback conversations, employee retention, conduct and interpersonal challenges
  • Interpretation and application of HR policies
  • Provide employees guidance where local knowledge, language, and cultural context are essential
  • Identify patterns, risks, and emerging issues, and partner with HRBPs to address them

Operational Support (Approx. 25%)

  • Own and coordinate HR work with local language requirements
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for Japan benefits and global mobility, coordinating with our Kinaxis COEs
  • Identify local legislative or regulatory requirements that require updates to HR policies, including changes that require submissions to labour offices or regulatory bodies
  • Assist in identifying and coordinating external talent/training vendors in Japan

Regional Program Delivery & Support (Approx. 25%)

  • Support HR Business Partners with talent review calibration facilitation, engagement survey insights & local action planning.
  • Act as the Japan conduit for DEI initiatives and leadership development & learning programs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong manager and employee advisory capability
  • Deep understanding of Japanese labour law, employment practices, and cultural norms
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with managers and employees
  • Experience translating global HR programs into effective local execution
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and comfort operating without formal decision authority
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English
