Location/Division Specific Information 

This opportunity is to support APJ CDMO division within the Pharma Services Group (PSG) of Thermo Fisher scientific. You will be located in Japan and required to travel.

How will you make an impact?     

We are looking for an individual with sales and technical background in pharmaceutical industry. This individual will act as the initial touchpoint for the new customers/leads and uncover their needs in order to qualify the business opportunities for PSG.  This individual will work with different stakeholders including local BD and marketing team to enable our customers to make the world a Healthier Cleaner and Safer place.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong understanding of new customers and their marketplaces through a broad range of information sources, identify and lead new business opportunities with the customers.
  • Discovering new business opportunities and expanding market awareness of PSG's services.
  • Qualify any potential business opportunities for PSG post successful execution of CDA/NDA and process smooth handover to the respective BDEs.

What will you do? 

  • Serve as BD associate and as an initial touchpoint for new customers and leads.
  • Uncover and evaluate customers’ needs for PSG business and manage execution of CDA/NDA by closely working with internal contract team.
  • Hand over the potential business opportunities to the respective BDEs post CDA execution
  • Collaborating with Marketing to support digital marketing and conferences, creating new opportunities and enhancing brand value.
  • Work with the BDEs to gather information to be able to submit requests for proposals within SalesForce.(SFDC).
  • This job is tasked to support meeting sales targets for the below listed Business Units and grow PSG’s revenues, develop a greater level of strategic collaboration with all biotech and pharma customers.
    • Small molecule and biological drug substance development and manufacturing services
    • Formulation/Analytical development and clinical trial material (CTM) manufacturing services for drug products (Oral Solid and Sterile dosage forms)
    • Clinical packaging, labelling, distribution, clinical ancillary and comparator drug sourcing services
    • Commercial manufacturing services for drug products (Oral Solid and Sterile dosage forms)
    • Cell and Gene Therapy services (viral vector, cell therapy, and mRNA)
  • Adhere to the performance metrics (KPI targets) and management expectation throughout the year.

How will you get here? 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a related field, such as pharmaceutics; chemistry or biology
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the life sciences industry with preference given to pharmaceutical industry including clinical, CDMO and bioprocessing.
  • Dynamic and highly self-motivated individual
  • Business-level proficiency in English (verbal/written) and proficiency in Excel and presentation skills.
  • SalesForce.com familiarity desired
  • Ability to travel as required.
