Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter

The newest addition to the division will be Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter (WBSTT), an indoor attraction that will invite visitors to step into the fascinating behind-the-scenes world of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World. The Studio Tour Tokyo will offer special features to enable visitors to deepen their understanding of how the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films were made. With iconic film sets to explore, costumes and props to discover and magical experiences to delight, the indoor attraction will invite visitors to enjoy scenes from the films first-hand and discover how the world's favorite book series was brought to life on screen.

Unlike a theme park, the Studio Tour will allow visitors to step into film sets and enjoy an exciting entertainment experience. This will be only the second tour of its kind in the world and will build on the hugely successful Warner Bros. Studio Tour London (WBSTL). Covering over 960,000 Sq Feet Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter opened in Toshimaen in the first half of 2023.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

This position will support the day-to-day security operation at Warner Bros Studio Tokyo and the successful candidate will have a proven all – round experience in security and incident management. They will support the Senior Security Manager in the identification and mitigation of risk so that visitors to the tour can have a safe and enjoyable experience. They will also support the physical security of the Tour and work hand in hand with our third part security contract. They must be able to demonstrate a can -do attitude with problem solving skills in fast paced environment as well as a passion for continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • All WBSTT security matters, including physical security, access control, Security Operations Centre management and risk assessments.
  • Manage security implications associated with a crowded place with significant visitor attendance
  • Work hand in hand with the third-party security vendors to deliver an exceptional security service.
  • Provision of security retail loss prevention advice and processes
  • Work with all business units to take the lead in instilling a strong security culture at WBSTT
  • Monitoring the national and international security threat to the operational environment and responding accordingly
  • Review, analyse and report on changes to security rules, best practice, and regulations relevant to WBSTT Management that compliments the needs of the business.
  • Create, update and review site-wide Security policies.

Training and Support

  • Deliver security training on an as needed basis.
  • Establish security management systems in line with wider Warner Media Global Security Standards; as well as localised audit frameworks for security management within WBD
  • Provide administrative support as required including comprehensive records management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements, advising Senior Management in cases of exception
  • Provide security support for events and executive/talent visits, and physical and technical security recommendations for new construction projects

Relationship with stakeholders

  • Work closely with WBSTT colleagues to provide security support to the Tour.
  • Coordinate all WBSTT Departments in relation to delivering the recommendations of risk assessments and to ensure ongoing protection of people, buildings, and equipment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and act as a liaison point with local law enforcement and fire/emergency services.
  • Will be required to deputise for the Senior Security Manager as and when required.

Skills and experience

  • Previous proven experience in a Security department for a large public-facing company or relevant experience in public sector/law enforcement.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to partner with WBSTT Operations and Visitor Experience teams; and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience in operational response to emergency and crisis situations.
  • Possess a robust analytical, hands-on and flexible approach that allows for sensible and cost-effective solutions to be found.
  • Experience evaluating and designing security measures and working across departments to fulfil and implement requirements.

Language

  • Ability to speak and written both English and Japanese.

(Japanese must be to at least the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) grade N3, to allow for conversational Japanese with contracted security staff, Police and other key stakeholders)

Business Skills

  • Report writing skills must be at an exceptional level.
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages and other computer packages

Working Pattern:

  • Work in an office
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and out-of-hours cover including on-call.
