Senior Developer Advocate - Japan, AWS Developer Relations

Full-time
Do you love getting hands-on with software and sharing your enthusiasm for cloud computing with the wider tech community?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to join the Developer Relations team. Our creative, experienced, and energetic organization is responsible for helping to drive the development and adoption of AWS services. In this role, you’ll combine your technical skills, passion, and creativity to generate grass-roots attention and support for AWS among key industry innovators and technologists in Japan as well as globally.
Ideally, you’re someone who comes from a software development background, but you love to be on stage or on screen guiding the broader industry towards technologies that you believe in. You have immediate credibility with startups, developers, architects, and technology leaders. You’re excited about the next generation of developer tools and the possibilities of generative AI to increase developer productivity. You love to share your passion with others and you exhibit strong judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so.
Key Capabilities:
· As an influencer, you'll use your unique personality and authentic content to help attract Builders to AWS and keep them engaged and inspired to build.
· As a Builder, you'll dive deep to deliver bar-raising technical content to help Japanese develpers learn about new features, and guide their plans for building solutions on top of AWS. You'll offer opinionated and timely guidance on how to make the most of the features and functions of AWS services. This content includes blog posts, technical presentations, workshops, and video content. You'll keep your technical skills updated constantly, always maintaining a baseline understanding of the latest core AWS services, and then adding breadth and depth as required.
· As an extension of our Product teams, you'll engage with Japanese Builders to identify and anticipate user challenges. You will represent the voice of Japanese Builders with internal service teams and leverage the data you gathered from the community to help influence our product roadmap.
· As an ambassador, you'll build long-term relationships with local Builders and their communities (including AWS groups like JAWS as well as third-party groups). You'll work with AWS marketers to identify areas to engage the community, amplify the materials and resources you create, and identify areas of improvement in our public content.
Key job responsibilities
· Creating and maintaining relevant Japanese content (demos, videos, blogs, podcasts, livestreams, etc), covering AWS services along with emerging technologies and industry developments.
· Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee and speaker at AWS and third party technology conferences, shows and press events.
· Curating, developing and delivering compelling presentations to help drive awareness and adoption of AWS services, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure that technical agendas for AWS events in Japan meet the needs of the local developer community.
· Gathering feedback on AWS products and services from Japanese developers, and feeding those insights back to AWS service teams.
· Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to technical audiences.
· Working with your worldwide counterparts to share best practices and help build a best-in-the-industry developer relations organization.
