Context of the Position As part of our strategic international expansion, JD Logistics is establishing its core infrastructure within the Spanish market.
This is a critical greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized global capabilities into localized execution.
This position is designed for an agile, high-energy frontline operational leader who thrives in fast-paced cross-docking environments.
The role demands an execution-focused supervisor who can manage teams of sorting operators, maintain fluid throughput across automated systems, and meet strict dispatch windows.
The Mission & Core Scope The Mission: Lead, motivate, and direct daily sorting floor shift operations (unload scanning, induction, automated belt monitoring, and cage consolidation) to ensure all packages are sorted by postal code and staged for outbound transport with zero delay.
The Scope: You will take direct, hands-on floor responsibility for a dedicated sorting line or processing zone, tracking hourly units-per-hour (UPH) throughput, managing sorting deviations, and enforcing compliance with the Convenio Colectivo de Logística de Madrid.
Crucial Expectations & Performance Targets To provide a clear understanding of the accountability required, the successful candidate will be evaluated on the following key metrics during the initial 6 to 12 months: Hourly Sorting Throughput (SLA): Successfully manage shift execution to hit or exceed processing capacity metrics, preventing any parcel accumulation or belt gridlocks.
Near-Zero Mis-Sort Rate: Establish rigorous scanning and visual verification discipline on the floor, keeping sorting errors and incorrect zip-code assignments to absolute minimum levels.
Frontline Labor and Safety Management: Oversee real-time operator placement across induction and loading bays, track team attendance, and run smooth shift handovers while maintaining high morale and absolute safety around moving conveyor components.
Transport Injection Compliance: Coordinate closely with transport dispatchers to ensure that sorted packages are structurally containerized, manifested, and loaded onto outbound trailers before strict vehicle departure cut-offs.
Position Requirements Greenfield Launch Expertise: You must have a verified background of acting as a team leader, line coordinator, or senior supervisor within a high-volume parcel sortation center, express cross-dock hub, or final-mile injection node during a site launch or major peak season.
Frontline Floor Mastery: Proven experience leading fast-paced teams of industrial operators (30+ workers), deep familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS/WCS), automated sorting conveyor lines, cross-dock matrix routing, and RF barcode scanning infrastructure.
Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory to ensure clear operational alignment with international management and fluent direction of local floor staff.
Knowledge of Mandarin is a valuable asset.
Operational Flexibility: High adaptability regarding shift rotations (including early mornings, late nights, or weekend shifts) to guarantee complete sorting network alignment.
