About the role

Are you a communications superstar? We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Corporate Communications to join our Corporate Affairs team on an 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster based at the Roy Hill mine.

In this pivotal role, you will use your expertise to lead and deliver effective communication strategies that enhance employee awareness and engagement with Roy Hill’s key initiatives and projects. You will be an essential member of a diverse and creative Corporate Communications team, bringing your own knowledge and experience to strengthen and contribute to a positive culture of continuous improvement. You will work alongside the team’s other Specialist Corporate Communications in a back-to-back working arrangement.

Reporting to our Superintendent Corporate Communications, you will develop and maintain strategic and trusted partnerships with stakeholders both at the mine and across Roy Hill. Using your passion for internal communications, you will coach and support our leaders, helping them to become more effective communicators as we all work together to achieve our goals and be an employer of choice.

Duties

  • Execute strategic communication plans effectively to support the delivery of organisational goals
  • Optimise internal communication channels, ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities
  • Measure effectiveness of communication strategies, messages and campaigns and use this insight to advise stakeholders and drive continuous improvement
  • Create, tailor and manage content for both face-to-face and digital internal communications
  • Provide communications coaching to leaders to support improved capability across the business
  • Support external communications, including media, social media and brand marketing and assist during crises or major events as required
  • Collaborate with the other members of the Corporate Affairs team to encourage sharing of information and deliver an integrated approach
  • Support cultural understanding and alignment to values and build strong stakeholder relationships

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Arts, Media, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • Substantial experience in a similar communications position with demonstrated experience delivering effective internal communication programs
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and coach at a senior level
  • Ability to identify, apply and track robust communication measures
  • Experience working across a range of communications platforms and technologies
  • Proven capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities
