Position overview

The Marketing & Transaction Services (MTS) Specialist will act as the transaction manager, overseeing the full lifecycle of Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) transactions. This role involves collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders, including but not limited to Business Development, Pricing, Risk, Investments, Legal, Treaty, and other Corporate Partners or Business Sponsors, to structure and execute complex, financially driven reinsurance transactions across the APAC region.

The ideal candidate will leverage strong project management skills to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring the design, development, and completion of transactions in line with the APFS mandate. The position covers all Asian countries where APFS business opportunities exist or are anticipated, with a primary emphasis on the Japanese market to guarantee timely, accurate, and efficient execution of transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Transaction Lifecycle Planning and Oversight: Oversee the APFS transaction process by collaborating with technical specialists, thoroughly documenting findings, and ensuring prompt resolution of issues to achieve successful results. Maintain accuracy across internal systems / platforms by updating data or status and fulfilling other necessary transaction service tasks

  • Stakeholder Coordination and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively engage with core deal teams, Business Sponsors and relevant Corporate Partners assigned to each transaction. Organize team calls and transaction-specific meetings, attend different levels of forums, manage information sharing, document action items, provide progress reports, and ensure alignment among all stakeholders

  • Deal Execution: Establish and regularly review transaction timelines with clearly defined milestones and deadlines. Lead or support the preparation of transaction bidding materials and approval materials, initiate required approvals, and are responsible for obtaining all mandatory signoffs / no objections within designated timeframes. Ensure proper governance throughout the execution process

  • Business Development and Pipeline Management: Collaborate closely with front-office teams and senior MTS members to build and maintain effective pipelines. Assist in the development of supporting materials, presentation materials as needed

  • Other Responsibilities: Complete additional duties assigned

Requirements

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Business / Business Administration, Management, Finance / Accounting, Acturaial Science / Insurance or related field

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of working experience in the financial services or re/insurance industry or consulting field, and willing to pursue continued learning related to reinsurance

  • Minimum 2+ years of project management experience and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, while effectively managing resources and stakeholder expectations

  • Exposure to middle and back-office activities in past roles, including Administration, Operation, Valuation, Finance / Accounting, Treaty, or Legal & Compliance is a plus

  • Relevant advanced education in graduate school or professional certifications / qualifications in relevant fields is a plus

Skills and abilities

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, allowing for clear explanation of complex concepts and collaboration with various stakeholders

  • Proficient in setting goals and managing multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously, with a strong capability to balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods and perform effectively under tight deadlines and stressful conditions

  • Ability to work well within a wide geographical team environment and participate in team projects across multiple time zones

  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Business level in English and Japanese is required; Other language capability is a plus

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Experience with AI or automation tools is a plus
